Takahashi Woodworking in Oita City, Oita Prefecture, is a good old woodworking factory that manufactures and installs built-in wooden furniture and fittings. This is how the “Rasen” series was born, and this “Spiral Tube” is the fourth product. With the glass top, it can be used as a side table, and without it, it can be used as an interior object adding a novel accent to daily life. By expressing the spiral shape, which is a repeating structure but does not follow the same position, with wood that exudes the warmth of nature, the power that seems to continue to rise infinitely coexists with a somewhat delicate and mysterious charm. Although it is a precise and complicated form, it combines the craftsmanship of skilled craftspeople who know all there is to know about wood and the processing technology of the most advanced 3D router machine for wooden mold processing that realizes high-precision, three-dimensional production. In addition, up until now the Rasen series of previous products were made of plywood; however, Spiral Tube uses several types of solid wood as raw materials. As for the solid wood, Takahashi Woodworking mainly uses offcuts that will be eventually discarded, giving consideration to environmental friendliness. Since the wood grain and color are different for each and every product, all pieces are never the same.
