This plant-based sweet potato waffle is produced by PLANT BASED TOKYO located in Shinjuku, Tokyo, based on the concept of being friendly for both the Earth and the body. The ingredients do not include animal source foods including meat, fish, egg and dairy; white sugar; and the seven specific allergens including milk, egg, wheat, buckwheat, peanut, shrimp and crab.
The dough, more than 30% of which is kneaded with sweet potato paste, has the natural sweetness of beet sugar and a slight aroma of sweet potato. Aiming to create a sweet that anyone regardless of age can enjoy, the fluffy soft texture and the mild flavor were achieved by using “Mizuhonochikara” rice flour from Kumamoto as well as through repeated improvements.
