Since its establishment in 1887, MARUMO TAKAGI Co., Ltd. has been engaged in the creation of tableware that embraces Japanese cuisine culture in the Mino-ware pottery region, which boasts a history spanning 1,300 years. The tableware is made using ceramics, glass, lacquerware and natural wood, employing modern designs that enhance the dining experience.
The Japan travel table-set series was introduced with the aim of inspiring visitors to each region to return one day by triggering memories of their stay by using the themed chopsticks and tableware. The series started with tableware from nine regions spanning Japan (Hokkaido, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Kyoto, Okinawa, Gifu, Fukui, Kyushu). The Japan travel table-set series intricately weaves region-specific features into the chopsticks and other tableware essential for Japanese cuisine. Cherry blossoms embellish the chopsticks, local place names grace the chopstick rests, and emblematic designs symbolizing local delicacies and landmarks adorn the soy sauce dishes. The special box with the Japanese flag motif and prominent “JAPAN” gold lettering includes two sets.
Travel-themed glasses are an extension of the company’s popular “Sunset-View Glasses.” When pouring beer, each glass offers a silhouette of local symbols against a backdrop of golden sunset hues. Each symbol is accompanied by a unique hashtag, allowing seamless sharing on social media platforms, transcending language barriers. The unique hashtags and patterns add to the atmosphere when making a toast. In addition to the initial nine regions, plans are in place to roll out the products nationwide.
