A new version of the traditional Japanese sweet warabimochi has been developed to bring this much-loved treat to a wider range of people, including the younger generation. A decision was made to commercialize the new version, Cream Warabimochi Matcha, after receiving positive feedback from within the company regarding the idea proposed by part-time staff, including housewives. Each piece is carefully handcrafted and elegantly packaged in a beautiful container. The combination with a generous serving of rich Uji matcha cream results in a harmonious fusion of flavors. The creation introduces a new blend of Japanese and Western tastes, delivering a texture and taste reminiscent of custard pudding.
The warabimochi features the prized bracken-root starch, only 70 g of which can be obtained from around 10 kg of mountain vegetable warabi. Through trial and error in ingredient blending and cooking methods, TORORITENSHI no WARABI-MOCHI achieved the ultimate silky-smooth texture through a relentless pursuit of “softness.”
