Chocolat À Riz-Gâteaux

ARIGATO CO., LTD. (Chiba)

Chocolat À Riz-Gãteaux is a confectionery product made by kneading coffee grounds or green tea grounds into a rice cracker (“arare”) dough and coating it with chocolate and brown sugar. Coffee and green tea grounds are rich in dietary fiber. The resulting rice crackers are also rich in dietary fiber and have a delicious toasty aroma.
A large amount of grounds are wasted every day, thereby making the best use of those grounds leads to a reduction of food loss. In this way, the chocolate is an unprecedented upcycle product that is friendly to both the human body and the environment.
There are four types in the box: Coffee-flavored Arare, which is coated with couverture milk chocolate; a variety coated with brown sugar from Iriomote Island in Okinawa Prefecture; a variety coated with high-grade matcha chocolate; and a small pack that contains three kinds of Arare, coated with almonds, cashew nuts and dried cranberries to complete the set.
The product name is derived from the coined French word Chocolat À Riz-Gâteaux (rice cracker chocolate), and the sound of “À Riz-Gâteaux” that is quite similar to “arigato,” which means “thank you” in Japanese. The gift package with a panda as a character expresses the desire to protect the global environment. Its compact size is easy for transport and delivery.
