HASYA Natto Furikake

This natto furikake is a rice topping with powdered fermented soybeans that has less distinctive smell of natto and has almost no sticky texture. Natto is a traditional healthy food made from whole soybeans that have been fermented, which has long been appreciated by people in Japan. While natto is a superfood with excellent health benefits such as high nutritional value and contains bacillus natto that regulates gut microbiota, its smell and sticky texture are quite strong and unique. The product uses “powdered natto” produced using the company’s original method, which allows bacillus natto to reach the intestines alive in spore state and protect itself in harsh environments.
Shikoku Awa Hasya has been dedicated to manufacturing and sales of powdered natto over 20 years in the town of Katsuura in Tokushima Prefecture. This furikake topping was created by adding sesame and nori seaweed in abundance so as to make natto powder easier to eat. Each pack contains approximately 4.2 billion bacillus natto. Because bacillus natto can reach the intestines alive, it reduces harmful bacteria and increases good bacteria. The product does not have the strong, distinctive smell of natto so that even those who don’t like natto can enjoy it. The furikake goes well with rice, but can also add flavors to salad, pasta, tofu and many other dishes, making natto more accessible for everyone.
