Shuzenji pudding
Shuzenji pudding factory (Izubound GIA) (Shizuoka)
Produced by a shop specialized in puddings, Shuzenji pudding uses brand “Niwatori Island” eggs from Shizuoka Prefecture and brings out the natural flavors of the ingredients. It has sweet and rich flavors with a smooth texture.
Shuzenji pudding factory is particular about the eggs it uses for the products which are all sourced from Izu Keigyo, a local egg producer. Chickens are raised in the fresh air with clean water and fed with non-genetically modified, high-quality feed blended by the farm. The eggs produced by healthy hens have no distinctive egg smell and are characterized by their rich flavor and egg yolk of a slightly whitish gentle yellow color. They have also been recognized by the prefectural government under the program that certifies the safety and security efforts of producers as well as being certified by the “Shizuoka Food Selection.”
The puddings made with the safe and secure eggs come with two types of sauces that enhance the flavors of the pudding. You can choose from a caramel sauce that strikes a perfect balance between sweetness and bitterness or a kuromitsu syrup that adds a Japanese touch to it.
Shuzenji pudding factory is located in the Shuzenji hot spring town, listed as one of the “100 Best Hot Springs” in the country. The pudding comes in a container inspired by a pleasant path winding thought a bamboo grove known as the symbol of the town, which makes for a wonderful souvenir from Izu.
