Based on the result of repeated research aimed at reproducing functional aspects from the appearance and cushioning properties to absorption-desorption of moisture which are created by the unique shape of rush, the company developed original equipment to process coating and twisting machine-made Japanese paper at the same time. In 1996, a new tatami facing was born with such features as durability, water repellency, resistance to mold and dust mites and antibacterial properties. This product uses this uniquely developed tatami realizing a comfortable touch that makes people feel the warmth of washi*. Combined with protective and cushioning materials, it maintains moderate elasticity and is finished in a thin size that is easy to store. In addition, the place & lay type has a slip-proof sheet on the back so that it does not slip sideways even if it is placed on a hard floor.
