WATAAKI ORIMONO (Yamanashi)

Thinking first of the skin, these pajamas that have been made with special lining production technology not only offer pleasant feeling and optimal comfort when sleeping, but also comes in cute and stylish design achieved in pursuit of a beautiful silhouette and functionality.
Wataaki Orimono is a textile company specialized in lining fabrics established in 1955 in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi prefecture, known as a production area of good quality fabrics with a history of over 1,000 years.
While the pajamas are made with a single fabric, it has a special weave structure with cupro for lining, which directly touches the skin, to achieve excellent moisture absorption properties that create a silky glide and fluidity to movements. On the other hand, the outer side of the fabric is made of natural fibers such as cotton and linen that allow for excellent water absorption and quick drying while offering natural antibacterial and odor elimination properties. The company also has placed emphasis on the design and usability based on the opinions from women in their 30s and 40s. Made with French seaming method, the pajamas are pleasant to touch and have a beautiful finish and excellent durability.
Aiming for sustainable manufacturing that take into account both the producers and consumers, the company focuses on creating purely Japan-made products and discloses all manufacturers involved in each process from the fiber production, weaving to sewing, while raising the cost ratio to 50%. The packaging also is produced by making use of damaged fabrics that cannot be marketed in order to contribute to waste reduction. Wataaki Orimono continues to strive to pass on the technology and tradition of the local textile production to the future generations.
