The brand is a modern take of some of the traditional patterns of Aizu-gata paper stencils which flourished from the Edo Period to the early Showa Period as a method to dye kimono fabrics. The charms are made of eco-friendly paper produced from bagasse pulp residue left behind after extracting sugarcanes, while the intricate designs are reproduced with the latest laser-processing technology.
In addition, the earrings employ the patented Aizu UV urushi lacquer technology that has been developed by advancing Aizu lacquerware, which has been passed down over generations for 400 years in the region. The resulting charms are both durable and scratch-resistant while exuding the depth and gentle feel unique to urushi lacquer.
