They are assembled one by one by skilled artisans from Sabae, Fukui Prefecture, the city which boasts 96% share in domestic eyeglass frame production. No metal parts are used in the frame and it is made of used PET bottles which is a sustainable material, friendly to global environment. Moreover, for lens, two-way-lens are used; “polarized lens,” which is essential for outdoor scenes for controlling reflection of light, and “photochromatic lens,” which changes the tone of color according to the amount of ultraviolet light, as well as UV protection, all in one. The sunglasses case has two main features; one is that it is made of sustainable recycled PET material, and that the case itself can serve as an eyeglass cloth. As a member of the NPO called “1% for the Planet” that encourages businesses to contribute to the conservation of natural environment, Ichibanboshi Co., Ltd. donates 1% of its annual revenue to approved environmental protection groups.
