Kamekudo Yoshino Kudzu Sweets Collection

KAROKUEN Co., Ltd. (Nara)

Kanzarashi Yoshino kudzu sweets made in the birthplace of kudzu starch. Keeping to the traditional kanzarashi method, Kamekudo creates sweets from Yoshino kudzu, known as the premium grade kudzu starch, in the Yoshino area of Nara Prefecture. Popular since ancient times, the beautifully white Yoshino kudzu is made by extracting the starch from wild kudzu plants growing in the mountains, carefully purified by the hands of artisans and dried for about three months in the intensely cold winter air. The kudzu powder is widely known as an ingredient in Japanese sweets, and is also familiar since ancient times as a component of the natural medicine kakkonto.
Kamekudo specializes in Japanese sweets using Yoshino kudzu. The Kamekudo Yoshino Kudzu Sweets Collection is the premium gift set of these select sweets. The package is also exceptional, with each item enclosed in adorable small boxes, assorted into traditional oju tiered boxes and wrapped in furoshiki cloth. The gift set includes specially made rare type kudzu mochi and kudzu puddings. The matcha flavoring is made from Kyoto’s Uji matcha. Kudzu mochi can be enjoyed with the accompanying kinako powder and kuromitsu syrup. Chill them in the refrigerator to fully appreciate the delicate flavor of Japanese kudzu sweets.
