While conventional Japanese sake has been rated based on ingredients and techniques, Hayashi Honten has been sensing a need for sake that values moods and emotions. The company for its 100th anniversary produced the limited quantity edition Hyakujuro emotion series, the sake that is compassionate to people’s feelings and add flourish and happiness to their lives. The five types of sake in the series each offers unique flavors: Dream, Elegance, Beauty, Zen and Harmony. Made from super soft subsoil water produced in the Nagara River originating in Japan’s North Alps, the sake has an elegant and pleasant flavor. In addition, thorough quality control in a refrigerated sake brewery makes it possible to manage the brewing process at a constant temperature, so fresh sake can be produced and shipped throughout the year. The product is paired with a special Mino ware sake cup, a pottery with 1,300 years of history and highly acclaimed even by the Imperial Household Agency. To complete the all-made in Japan product set, the luxurious packaging was created by a traditional artist who also designs packaging for established Japanese sweets makers.
