The original tarte Tatin sandwiches from APPLE & ROSES COMPANY JAPAN consist of rich tarte Tatin, which uses Nagano’s Kogyoku apples, made into a paste and then sandwiched with crisp cookies that are slowly baked in an oven. One apple is used to make one sandwich to bring out the condensed flavors of the fruit. Through the sweets, the company hopes to share Nagano’s food culture and ingredients including delicious apples with a wider range of people. When traveling around Asian countries, the company owner noticed that Japanese apples sold in department stores and supermarkets were all produced in Aomori, and no apples from Nagano were sold. Fueled by the desire to convey the charms of the apples grown in Nagano, the company has been also engaged in the cultivation of the apples with the farmers to offer world’s first original sweets.
