Kounoike Hanabi
GOJODO (Osaka)
Kounoike Hanabi, meaning the “fireworks of Kounoike,” was created for the people of the local town of Kounoike, which unfortunately does not hold fireworks events, to experience the delight of fireworks through enjoying this daifuku sweets.
The daifuku wraps five kinds of fruits (blueberry, raspberry, orange, banana, pineapple), fresh cream and sponge cake with smooth red bean paste and mochi. Made by the hands of skilled artisans, each process takes quite a long time, but none of the steps nor ingredients can be lacking in order to achieve the delicate balance of its flavor. The sweet tartness of fruits and the richness of the red bean paste and cream are beautifully harmonized to softly burst in a variety of flavors and textures on the palate, much like fireworks. Our wish is to go beyond Japan and let people around the world imagine fireworks through this daifuku and enthusiastically experience Japan. This daifuku is like a fruit parfait, combining the best of both Japanese and Western sweets so it is approachable for foreign customers and also provides a chance for them to get to know the world of Japanese sweets. The product is shipped frozen, so simply move it to a refrigerator about six hours before serving. During the summer, you can also enjoy it half-thawed as a delicious icy dessert.
