FUNAGUCHI Sake-Kasu Brioche

KIKUSUI SAKE CO., LTD. (Niigata)

FUNAGUCHI Sake-Kasu Brioche was co-developed with Bo-Lo’gne, a bakery in Gion district in Kyoto known for a long line of people waiting to buy its Danish bread that is also popular among Maiko (apprentices to Geisha). Based on the bakery’s canned bread “Can de Bo-Lo’ne,” which was developed for long-term storage, the brioche is made of high-quality sake lees, a byproduct of the making process of “Funaguchi Kikusui Ichiban Shibori” Japanese sake made 100% from rice cultivated in Niigata Prefecture. Sake lees packed with umami flavor of the rice are carefully blended into brioche dough and canned in a container for long-tern storage. The can designed using the container of Kikusui Funaguchi Ichiban Shibori sake as a motif is durable and easy to carry. It does not require a can opener so that you can enjoy the delicious taste at any time. Expiration date is up to three and a half years, which makes it ideal for long-term storage and emergency stockpiling.
