Single leather compact wallet ICHI

OURSE (Tokyo)

While most of the wallets are comprised of several layers, ICHI is made by folding a single piece leather with minimal sewing. The material cost tends to be higher compare with normal production method as the leather must be long enough, but the company aspires to convey the wallet’s advantages that are worth the cost. There are three main features of the single leather wallet after which the brand was named: 1) a great combination of thinness and sufficient storage capacity; 2) stylish design; and 3) superb durability. Although the thickness of the leather used measures about 1.5mm, the finished wallet is about 8mm thin owing to the well thought out design. ICHI wallet employs a construction that only four layers of leather overlap each other when the wallet is folded while allowing you to store coins and cards without overlapping to avoid the wallet from becoming bulky. It uses Pueblo vegetable tanned leather from a tannery in Italy, which has a unique washi-like texture while letting you enjoy dramatic change of colors through aging. The wallet fits easily in the pocket making going out without carrying a bag possible.
