Blissful peach sorbet
General Incorporated Foundation Koori Town Promotion Corporation (Fukushima)
Cultivated in the town of Koori-machi in Fukushima Prefecture, “Akatsuki” is a peach brand of the highest quality that has been presented to the Imperial Family for 24 consecutive years. However, demand for peaches had dropped due to the spread of harmful rumors following the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, which raised numerous challenges for peach farmers, including the restoration of their lives and the cultivation of safe, secure and delicious peaches. In addition, peaches have a short shelf life and so the best time to eat them is within about two weeks. This ultimate peach sorbet, shifukunomomosorube, was developed in the hopes of offering these top-of-the-range peaches to many people regardless of the season. Made using nearly 75% peach juice extracted from the same variety as Akatsuki and without adding any flavoring agents, the sorbet lets you fully savor the natural sweetness and aroma of the peaches. This unique sorbet is rich in flavor, keeps the hopes of the town alive by bolstering the lives of peach farmers, and delights people around the world.
