The MAMORIO tag was developed with the idea that keeping this tradition of trustworthiness in Japan alive is a way to offer omotenashi to guests visiting the country.
By inserting the tag that has a range of about 30 to 50 meters in a wallet or other valuables and connecting it to the smartphone via Bluetooth, it alerts users when it moves out of range and loses connection. The largest difference between MAMORIO and other similar items is its world’s smallest size that makes for great portability. It is as small as a postage stamp but slightly thicker. Currently, MAMORIO is promoting infrastructure services with several institutions such as railway companies to help owners quickly find items left on trains.
