YASAKAHAN

Ikerindoh Hanhichi Co., Ltd. (Kyoto)

YASAKAHAN is a whole-house rental accommodation, which uses a remodeled machiya, a traditional Kyoto townhouse. The ceiling of the Japanese-style room has been lowered, while antique fixtures such as sliding doors have been incorporated to emphasize the atmosphere of an old Japanese house. Renovation has been kept to a minimum so that the remodeled house retains the ambience of a machiya.
While keeping the positive features of a machiya house, the kitchen and bathrooms have incorporated accessible design to ensure usability so that everyone, regardless of age, gender or nationality can use them with ease.
The living room is furnished with Japanese decor, including a dantsu carpet, and a writing desk that has been used since the Edo period. In addition, the room offers a magnificent view of the Yasaka Pagoda, letting you feel the atmosphere of Kyoto even from the room.
The kitchen is fully equipped with an IH stove top, cooking tools and crockery so that you can comfortably prepare your meals during you stay. YASAKAHAN is a self-catering accommodation so it does not provide meals, but seasonal dinner menus, such as hamo eel, yudofu (hot tofu) and sea bream shabu-shabu are available upon request.
