Mie Terrace is a facility designed to communicate the cultures and traditions of Mie prefecture, located in the Nihonbashi area of Tokyo. Known as the historic gathering spot of Ise merchants during the Edo period, Nihonbashi is also the starting point for pilgrimage to the Ise Shrine. Mie Terrace not only sells local specialty food and craft items, but is staffed with educated members who communicate the history and knowledge behind each product. Their combined efforts, experienced in the backdrop of a sophisticated space, is a culmination of Mie’s omotenashi spirit.
