Ougi is a product that represents Kyoto’s aesthetic sensibilities and the city’s traditional dyeing techniques. Combining dip-dyeing and hand-drawing methods, each ougi bag embodies the diligent craftsmanship of master artisans. Inspired by the kimono, oju tiered food boxes, origami paper and the traditional layering culture of Japan, these bags were designed with the fan-shaped ougi motif, a versatile shape that leaves different impressions depending on its use and movement.
